"Time To Stand" (Keynote -
1hr)
Most people live their
whole lives on their "BUTS."
Our "BUTS" are those excuses
that hold us back from doing
the things we would like to
or need to in
life. "I would like to
get in shape 'BUT' I don't
have the time, energy,
patience, etc." "Time
to
Stand!" is a powerful
presentation that outlines
where our "BUTS" come from,
why they control us, how to
get off of them, and how to encourage others to
join us in STANDING.
Audiences are taken on a
journey through human
potential, using emotional
stories from Sean
Stephenson's life. Predicted
not to survive at birth
because of a rare bone
disorder that stunted his
growth and caused his bones
to be extremely fragile,
Sean has triumphed in life with the
power of STANDING.
"From Where You Stand"
(Workshop - 1hr 30 min)
Imagine a program where
student leaders could learn
how to implement the
principles of STANDING into
their organizations, campus,
and lives. Getting
students off their BUTS is
the main focus of this
HIGHLY INTERACTIVE
presentation. Through
discussion and activities,
Sean applies the STANDING
lessons from, "Time to
Stand!" directly into the
lives of your student
leaders. This
program takes an in depth
look at the real BIG BUTS on
your campus. "From
Where You Stand" cuts
students loose from
the insecurities that are
weighing them down. As
a board certified therapist,
Sean uses humor and
compassion to develop a
safe and controlled
environment where students
can discuss real challenges
such as peer pressure, body
image, and stress. The
lessons learned in the
course of this program
will make a positive impact
on the development of your
campus leaders.
These video samples are of several segments of content
taken from Sean's (College)
program, "Time to Stand!"
This one hour program was
presented to a collegiate
audience.
"It's the BEST program I
have ever seen - and I have
seen alot of programs in my
position.”

"Sean did a great job, he
brought in a lot of humor
and wit, with an edge that I
think our students really
needed."
-Ray Clay, Campus Recreations

Illinois Chicago Campus (IL)
"We brought Sean to the
University for two FULL DAYS
of programs. Sean made a
tremendous difference to the
frame of thinking for the
many people who saw him
speak."
-Melanie Clark, Director of Leadership &
Community Service, University
of North Carolina Pembroke
(NC)
"I laughed. I cried. I have
been going through some
really hard times in my life
lately with my mother
passing away. I just wanted
you to know that your speech
was so inspirational to me."
-Student, San
Diego State University (CA)
"Sean has the ability to
help students in
fraternities and sororities
see the potential they hold.
Transforming organizations
can be difficult, but Sean
offers lessons to assist in
empowering people to affect
change."
-Dan Bureau, Assistant
Dean of Students,
University of Illinois
Urbana-Champaign (IL)
"Sean's unique approach to
positive human development
is essential to all aspects
of higher education,
inclusive of academic
affairs, athletics, and
student affairs. We have
decided to include him as a
mandatory speaker for all
our first time freshman."
- David Belote, Vice
Chancellor for Student
Affairs,
University of Tennessee at
Martin (TN)
1. Sean's life condition
(size, wheelchair, brittle
bones) automatically
diffuses any students' thoughts
of, "Well easy for you to
say..." This rapport
allows his message to be
immediately absorbed and not
resisted.
2. Sean is not a
motivational speaker. He is a
board certified therapist
with a concentration on human
behavior and leadership
development. Speaking is
merely one medium he uses to
reach college students.
3. Sean is the acclaimed
author of three books. His first
book, How Youth Can
Succeed has
been distributed to
thousands of students
nationwide.
4. Sean has empowered
students across the globe
(47 states and 6 countries)
for nearly a decade.
5. Sean's message and life
story has appeared in the
media world-wide on "The
Oprah Show," CNN, The
Discovery Health Channel, and
in the New York Times.
6. In Sean's powerful
presentation, "Time To
Stand!" he outlines where
our "BUTS" come from, why
they control us, how to get
off of them, and how
to encourage others to join
us in STANDING.
7. Sean's program is not a
fluffy motivational speech.
"Time To Stand!" hooks the
emotions of the students
while implanting nuggets of
wisdom and logical
strategies for moving past
their excuses and fears.
8. Sean will teach your
audience members to support
themselves in a position of
strength and get off their
BUTS and take a STAND.
9. Sean will get your
students to laugh, cry, and,
most importantly, to STAND.
10. The number one reason
Sean is called into schools
is to eradicate the BIGGEST
BUT OF THEM ALL, "I would do
that 'BUT' I don't have enough
time, money, energy, etc."
11. Sean not only
addresses the excuses but
the "BUTS" that fuel the
insecurities behind them, "I would love
myself, BUT I am not pretty
enough, wealthy enough, or
popular enough, etc."
12. Sean shares with his
audience moments from his
life that are EXTREMELY
engaging, such as the fact
that he was predicted not to
survive at birth because of
a rare bone disorder that
stunted his growth, confined
him to a wheelchair and
caused his bones to be
extremely fragile (breaking
over 200 times since birth).
13. Sean is a presenter
that lives his message of
STANDING! Instead of riding
on the excuse, "BUT I am in
a wheelchair," Sean has
worked in the White House
for the President, filmed a
fitness video with Ms.
Fitness Universe, and is
currently pursuing a
Doctorate. top
